Enhance your drive with Vis-Tech®
Our Vis‑Tech® windscreen rain repellent uses a formula that is invisible on your windscreen. The advanced formulation repels rain, dirt and insects to improve visibility in wet conditions while reducing the need to use your wiper blades — helping save on maintenance costs over time. Furthermore, Vis‑Tech® can also reduce glare caused by oncoming headlights or other light sources reflecting off wet glass, providing a safer driving experience.
Exclusive to O’Brien®, Vis-Tech® is applied as part of your windscreen replacement or repair service by technicians specially trained in the correct manufacturer‑approved application process. The treatment lasts up to 12 months or 20,000 km, helping repel rain for clearer visibility, safer driving and a more comfortable journey.
Ask our friendly team about Vis‑Tech®, available with or without a windscreen replacement, and experience the clearer difference today.

How much difference can a windscreen water repellent treatment make?
Vis‑Tech® forms an invisible protective layer on your windscreen that causes water, spray and moisture to bead and disperse quickly, rather than spreading across the glass. This helps rain roll away faster, improving visibility when driving in wet conditions.
To show how effective it is, we applied Vis‑Tech® to only the driver’s side of the windscreen, leaving the passenger side untreated for a clear side‑by‑side comparison. Then we headed out on the highway during a storm.
The result? The treated side repelled water almost instantly, helping maintain a clearer view of the road ahead — even in heavy rain.
Watch the road test and see the difference for yourself.
Four clear reasons to treat your windscreen with Vis-Tech®
Vis-Tech® repels rainwater, making it bead and slide off easily when driving over 65 km/hr, enhancing your driving visibility during wet weather.

Vis-Tech® is a repellent so helps keep debris, insects and other dirt from sticking to the windscreen, making the maintenance of your windscreen much easier. It makes cleaning off frost and ice easy too.

Comfortable Driving Experience
The Vis-Tech® treatment reduces glare, especially when driving at night, helping to improve your comfort.

With Vis-Tech® applied to your windscreen, you won't need to use your windscreen wipers as much when it rains, which means your wipers may last longer.

Tips for maintaining Vis-Tech®
Great news, you don’t need to do anything to enjoy the clarity of Vis-Tech® once applied. Remember, the treatment will last 12 months (or up to 20,000 KMs), so you will notice its effectiveness reduce after this time.
Just remember to reach out to your local O’Brien® AutoGlass team for a re-application at least once a year or every 20,000 kms (whichever comes first).
Note that even though you may be using your windscreen wipers less with Vis-Tech® , you should still regularly clean your wiper blades to extend their lifespan. Check out our expert tips for wiper maintenance here.

It acts like a coating, but you won’t see any visual difference on the windscreen when it’s not wet. When rainwater hits your windscreen while the vehicle is not moving, you’ll see the rain beads forming into droplets. When you’re driving over 65 km/hr, you’ll notice that the raindrops will continue to bead and move off the windscreen easily.
To determine if your Vis-Tech® treatment is effective, drive your car while it’s raining – you should notice a noticeable difference between before and after the application. If you are not satisfied with the treatment or believe there is an issue with its application (e.g., a section on your windscreen appears different when water touches it), please return to your local O'Brien® AutoGlass Service Centre where the treatment was applied. The Service Centre team will be happy to assess your windscreen and address any issue found with the treatment.
Vis-Tech® should last up to 12 months or up to 20,000 kms. Other than setting a reminder for these milestones, you can roughly judge by what you see on your windscreen. When you notice rain not beading when it hits your windscreen while driving and when visibility worsens in heavy rain, then it’s time to contact your nearest O’Brien® AutoGlass Service Centre.
